337 candidates of EAPL-CFA registered in 2019 municipality elections

Electoral Action of Poles in Lithuania – Christian Families Alliance enjoys well-deserved great authority in the Vilnius Region and in the whole country thanks to its honest and reliable activities. Not only Poles, but also representatives of other nationalities (i.e. Belarussians, Russians, Ukrainians, Tatars and others) vote for the party. Also, more and more Lithuanians support EAPL-CFA thanks to party’s honest policy and Christian and family values.

EAPL-CFA, together with the Association of Poles in Lithuania, Association of Polish School Teachers in Lithuania ‘Macierz Szkolna’, Parents’ Forum, many other Polish organisations as well as in cooperation with organisations of other national minorities and Lithuanian communities issued as many as 10 electoral lists in local governments of the City of Vilnius, Visaginas, Districts of Vilnius, Šalčininkai, Trakai, Švenčionys, Širvintos, Elektrėnai, Zarasai and Ignalina for the upcoming municipal elections of 2019

Candidates were also selected for direct elections of mayors in 7 local governments. In general, there 337 people on the EAPL-CFA lists. These people are well known and respected in their environments and, among them, there are self-government activists, mayors, vice mayors, members of the Seimas, teachers, people of culture, farmers, agronomists, engineers, entrepreneurs, doctors, leaders of social organizations and local communities, and a large group of young people up to 30 years old, 22 people in total. There are representatives of 7 nationalities among the candidates – Poles, Belarussians, Tatars, Russians, Lithuanians, Jews, Ukrainians. There are 209 women and 128 men.

The EAPL-CFA party has formed a coalition with the Alliance of Russians in 6 local governments. The Alliance selected 128 candidates. In general, both parties selected 465 people in cooperation with about 40 social organizations. Their lists will be available in 11 local governments.

Some organizational and tactical measures (a higher electoral threshold of 6-percent stands for coalitions) have resulted in:

–      an independent list of the Alliance of Russians registered in the city of Klaipeda – No 13;

–      the coalitions of the EAPL-CFA and the Alliance of Russians formed in the City of Vilnius Visaginas, as well as in the Districts of Vilnius, Šalčininkai, Švenčionys, and Trakai – No 17;

–      independent lists of EAPL-CFA registered in the Districts of Zarasai, Ignalina, Širvintos and Elektrėnai – No 17.

Candidates were also selected for the direct elections of mayors in 8 local governments. Both parties support the candidates.
